What is corn fiber?
1. Performance characteristics of corn fiber
corn fiberas a new type of ecological environmental protection, is made from corn starch fermentation lactic acid after polymerization spinning production of polylactic acid fiber, the fiber biological decomposition performance is good, can be microbes in the soil or water into water and carbon dioxide gas, under the photosynthesis and generates the raw starch, belongs to the strong, flame retardant fiber. Therefore has the development potential extremely. The fabric has good merCERization, fluffy feel, strong anti-pilling performance, good breathability, moisture absorption and perspiration performance, especially suitable for developing underwear and other products. The physical index fineness of corn fiber is 1.4dtex, the length is 38mm, and the moisture regain rate is 0.4%.
2. Process flow

3. Spinning process configuration and technical measures
3.1 Cotton opening and cleaning process
In view of the characteristics of corn fiber, such as low moisture return rate, low melting point and no impurities, the process principle of short flow, fine cotton grasp, more loose less beating and less falling is adopted in the cotton opening and clearing process. In order to reduce the flowback phenomenon and avoid excessive knotting caused by fiber damage, SFA035C mixed cotton opener only uses parallel hooper but porcupine hooper. FA106 cotton opener uses carding needle hooper and appropriately reduces the hooper speed. Generally, it is advisable to control the hooper speed at 480R /min. In order to avoid the fiber in the four rollers of the winding machine due to extrusion and hard block, the speed of winding roller is generally controlled at 10R /min. Cotton roll quantitative light grasp is generally 340g/m, the length of the cotton roll is 30.6m.
3.2 Cotton carding process
According to the characteristics of fluffy and low melting point of corn fiber, the process principle of "light quantity, tight spacing and low speed" is adopted in cotton carding process, but the phenomenon of hanging flowers should be avoided. In order to reduce excessive cotton knotting in the carding process, the line speed ratio of tin and spike roller should be increased appropriately to facilitate smooth fiber transfer. The main process parameters of the carding process are as follows: the speed of the tin forest is 330R /min, the speed of the sting roller is 760R /min, the speed of the Doffer is 24R /min, the four-point spacing between the tin forest and the cover plate is 0.25mm, 0.23mm, 0.23mm, 0.25mm, and the quantity of the raw strip is generally 17.5G /5m. Under this process parameter, the cotton knot of raw strip is generally controlled in 2~4 grains /g.
3.3 Joint procedure
Due to the poor electrical conductivity, fluffy fiber and low melting point of corn fiber, the process principle of "heavy pressure, light quantity, large distance and low speed" is adopted in the process of combining. In order to make the fiber get good parallelism and straightness, and at the same time to ensure the uniformity of the strip, it is necessary to adopt the larger draft multiple of the back area of the first and second strip, and the process parameters are shown in Table 1.
Under the above conditions, the Uster dry CV% value of cooked strips is 2.18%.
3.4 Roving process
In view of the characteristics of corn fiber fluffing and low melting point, the roving process adopts the process principle of "large spacing, heavy pressure and low speed". In order to prevent outside drafting, the roving twist coefficient should be increased appropriately. At the same time, the roving tension should be controlled slightly, but the phenomenon of "hard head" should be avoided in the spinning yarn. The main process parameters of roving process are shown in Table 2.
Under the above process conditions, the CV% value of the roving Uster strip is 3.69%.
3.5 Spinning process
In order to improve the yarn quality in the spinning process, low hardness high elastic cots, fluorinated zero and fluorinated wire ring are used. Due to the low melting point of corn fiber, the technological principle of "low speed and low twist coefficient" should be adopted. Main process parameters: spindle speed 12860r/min, twist coefficient 320, clamp interval 2.6mm, draft ratio of back area 1.14. The yarn quality index is shown in Table 3.
3.6 Winding process
Due to the large elasticity of corn fiber, it is necessary to control the winding tension and winding speed at a low level in the winding process. Generally, it is advisable to control the line speed of groove cylinder at 500m/min. At the same time, the overspeed groove barrel can effectively prevent the deterioration of the physical index of yarn formation. In the winding process, thicker paper tubes should be selected to avoid deformation of paper tubes due to excessive tension.
4. conclusion
Corn fiber is a new ecological fiber, with excellent performance, can be widely used in the garment industry underwear fabric, so it has a strong competitive advantage and development potential, in the actual production process, to strengthen the air conditioning temperature and humidity management, to ensure the improvement of yarn quality index.
